For Sidian, Ersatz and Vanes, the sweet spot is all about ratios and working familiar patterns and blockings from not so expected inspiration. Take their popular fitted button up shirts inspired by the core of the earth, literally, making for a clean/familiar and yet still intriguingly modern look. It’s the traditional concept of color blocking using less typical fabrics for this style like denim and flannel. The result is cool, casual and almost mysterious.
I also love their few examples of patterns and prints in their slim fitting button ups. What I call the “jail house” print below is one of my favorites and could be worn on its own or incorporated into a really funky and modern suited look. These guys are young and new, but I think their simple concepts have legs and will gain in popularity over time.
