there’s more to life than black & blue

5th & Brannan is out to prove it

I’ve been really trying to buy local lately – especially with the abundance of local designers I’ve been finding around SF these days. In need of a good & simple club collar shirt for an event I have coming up, I started perusing the internet for an SF local brand that makes something worth giving a shot. Luckily I came across the very young and very exciting site of menswear brand Fifth and Brannan.

Named for the intersection that the designer lived at while inspired to start this endeavor, 5&B aims to “1.) bring more texture, color, and pattern into men’s wardrobes, 2.) create a collection of timeless styles with modern tailoring, and 3.) obsess over the quality, details, and personal touches of each of our pieces.” I really can’t argue with that.

I know it is a good sign when a new brand keeps its product limited and consistent. Such restraint shows a focus on quality and craftsmanship.  Right now 5&B offers a few shirt options (one in club and one in a cutaway collar) and some covetable accessories like hand cut ties and pocket squares. I’m excited to get my hands on my new club collar shirt and can’t wait to see what the future brings for this new designer. Check them out for yourself HERE.

Hey guys! Thanks so much for the kind words. The club is definitely Kate’s (the designer’s) favorite. The oxford we chose has a nice hand and is quite substantial, and the contrast of the grey with the white collar is noticeable but not in your face annoying.

    Glad you like it!
