what’s your excuse?
Disclaimer: Aaron Schock’s politics suck. He’s anti-women and anti-gay. So, while this fitness campaign is good, he is a bad politician. Don’t vote for him. That being said…
Hunky Congressman Schock has been all over the place this week showing off his body and getting the word out about living a healthy lifestyle. For me, having just gotten home from a business trip in Kansas City where I seemed to be the only person under 200 lbs, his message couldn’t be more timely. Fat is Wack!
In America, more than 30% of the adult population is considered obese. OBESE. Not over weight, but living with totally and completely unhealthy levels of fat. It’s just not right. If you are overweight, and especially if you are obese, please PLEASE get your head out of your Ass and do something about it. Stop the yo yo dieting. Stop telling yourself you don’t have time to do things for yourself. You aren’t a martyr. You are making excuses and acting like a loser. We are ALL busy. We ALL have obstacles in our way. This guy is a congressman. I know plenty of fit moms, doctors, executives, big boned people with back problems, wonkey eyed sailors and pigeon toed albinos that are fit and make the effort (ok, I don’t know any wonkey eyed sailors). The point is, you either do it or you don’t. Freedom from the shame, frumpiness, and worst of all health concerns is SO SO attainable.
From a style stand point, we can dress a person in the most beautiful clothes available, but if you are out of shape and unhealthy, you aren’t going to look good. That’s it. I can’t say it any more clear. You might look good for a fat chick, or pretty alright for a hunched over skinny old dude, but you aren’t going to look great and I’m willing to bet you aren’t feeling too great either. I challenge you readers to make a decision to get fit and stay fit. It will be the best style decision you will ever make and I promise that the impact it will have on your confidence and spirit will be well worth the effort it takes. Check out mens health/women’s health campaign HERE for tips, food plans, work out routines and more. If you are new to the gym, you will surely look like a nerd your first few days. Commit to a couple days of dorkiness as a minor trade for a life change. It seems like a long road, but it really isn’t. You just have to start.
