not even supermodels. does it really matter, though?
I feel it necessary from time to time to talk about the facts that define the fashion industry. Here is how I see it… fashion is art. It is something we all see on the covers of magazines, online and on the streets. We spend hours upon hours perusing trend after trend. We scrutinize each and every ounce of beauty that comes our way and we do so with a tinge of naivete, never fully comprehending how much work goes into making each piece and consequently, how much time goes into making each model who wears that piece, perfect.
And here we are at the issue at hand… models, no matter how beautiful with their gorgeous clothing, hair and makeup and styling team, are by no means perfect… at least not by industry standards. In fact, they are no where close. Photographer Scott Trindle decided to show us, up close, just how imperfect (albeit still gorgeous) some of our top models can be.
I think this is a great expose` and one that should make all women feel a little better about their own (im)perfections.
I have to say, I kind of like the untouched versions better. They show each woman’s vulnerability and true beauty. That’s a trend I’d like to start embracing more often. You?
