Nicole Richie might be remembered fondly (or not so fondly) for her boisterous and rather crude personality on the reality hit television show, The Simple Life, in which she starred with none other than Paris Hilton. Say what you will, it was this launch into reality stardom (sure, her celebrity adopted parents, Lionel Richie and Brenda Harvey, certainly helped matters), that eventually opened many a door for the burgeoning fashion designer.
In October 2008, Nicole Richie collaborated with Mouawad to launch her first-ever jewelry line, entitled HOUSE OF HARLOW 1960. Uber-hip and ready-to-wear no matter your jewelry taste, House of Harlow took off. With prices ranging from $50-$150 for jewelry, every fashion diva can own it. What I love most about it is its ecclectic, worldly vibe. It’s very current. Most women like to mix their jewelry nowadays. Fine pieces, playfully intertwined with costume jewelry and that ever-so-coveted vintage bauble. It’s what we do. Nicole Richie gets that and has perfected this look.
Of course, Nicole Richie is no longer limiting herself to jewelry. She has dedicated herself to creating a shoe line under House of Harlow 1960 that competes with the likes of Elizabeth and James and Cynthia Vincent. And of course, there’s her clothing line, Winter Kate, which launched in February 2010 and it’s well, you know, current, edgy and affordable. And why shouldn’t she? Hell, if Mary Kate and Ashley can successfully brand themselves into a house of haute couture, so can Nikki. 😉 Sister likes it and trust, you will, too. Lucky for us, you can find these goodies at places here in town: Madam Butterfly, Heart Clothing Boutique and Nordstrom.
AVAILABLE AT SHOPBOP, OF COURSE. 😉
