or maybe it’s passover?
Whatever your reasoning is for shopping till you’re dropping and dressing in your “Sunday best,”we need to meet some fresh, Spring-like trends.
So, here’s the thing… every year growing up, my mom used to dress me in some frilly number and usually with a sweet hat upon my head for Easter Sunday mass. Begrudgingly, I would wear the matching ensemble and trot into Church with my brothers in tow (usually in suspenders and shorts and potentially a bow tie). Funny thing is, we always got a lot of attention and I’m still not sure if that’s because people were entranced by our coordinated dork status or because they actually thought we looked “cute.” No matter, I find myself doing the same exact thing to my own children and actually trying to emulate that “Easter best” chic for my very own self.
Let’s be real… “Sunday best” can very quickly go to “Church Lady” if you lose your style edge somewhere in between cardigan and wool pencil skirt. There is a way to be stylish and still appropriate, to be fashion-forward and actually choose an ensemble that is wearable outside of whatever holiday obligations you might have. Here are a few of my holiday faves:
An amazing hat by Eugenia Kim.
If an Easter hat isn’t quite up your ally, try a beautiful sundress with a bolero jacket.
Red, Zac Posen dress, $1,800 at SHOPBOP.
BUY BOLERO JACKET, $90 AT TOPSHOP.
Or, maybe a pair of flattering white palazzo pants with a tunic or a jumpsuit better suits your fancy? Whatever it is, make it effortless and tres chic, will you?
