AND IT WAS MAJOR.
Sacramento is earning its title as a serious fashion force these days. No surprise, Caren Templet is making it happen. The designer left many a jaw wide open during her runway show, which took place at the Antiquite Maison Privee this past Thursday, March 31 2011 in front of a bevy of high-fashion clients and friends, mostly flanked in custom pieces made by the designer herself and of course, a sea of stilettos and wingtips. The audience was all a-buzz with excitement and smiles spread as far as the sea is wide when the back beat of 1980s tribute music filtered through the speakers.
And so the runway show began…
We’re talking stunning pastel peaches and bold kelly greens mixed in with taffeta gowns and tulle ballerina skirts, mini sequin dresses with ruffles so short people were winking at each other from across the runway, wide-legged capri pants, cropped jackets in champagne jacquard and pant suits that scream sophistication, Caren Templet Spring/Summer 2011 is seriously IT. Did I mention models were accessorized in knit caps and heels and wedges dipped in gold glitter? They were. I know.
A champagne tower and a jam-packed crowd of who’s who stayed well into the night to toast Sacramento’s it girl. Like we really ever need an excuse… At least this time, it was done for the better of our burgeoning fashion community.
Sure, she’s Sister|Brother’s friend and we love her – and no, not just because of her insanely adorable British accent (okay, maybe just a little)– but we embrace her collection’s meticulous lines and craftsmanship and for her ability to pull whimsical sophistication out of her back pocket like a pack of tic tacs.
She really is that talented. Don’t believe me? See for yourself. Gallery posted above. If you haven’t ventured to her store yet, what on earth are you waiting for?! Check her out at 1801 L Street, #80 Sacramento, California 95811 or call at 916-376-7361 and tell her Sis|Bro sent you!
